After graduating with honors from the University of Miami with a Bachelors of Business Administration in the area of Finance in 1985, Angel attended Florida State University School of Law where he graduated in 1987. After graduation, Angel became a member of the Florida Bar in 1988. Angel is also a member of the Bars of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the Bankruptcy Division of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Angel is also currently a member of the Cuban-American Bar Association of Miami, Florida.
Angel began practicing law with the law firm of Stansell & Rice in 1988. The firm practice was concentrated in personal injury and insurance defense litigation. After about two years, Angel left Stansell & Rice, and became counsel for Union General Insurance Company. Thereafter, he started his own law firm, concentrating primarily in the areas of personal injury, insurance litigation, and wage and hour litigation as well as foreclosure defense litigation.
He has handled hundreds of first party insurance cases representing insureds against their insurance companies in all types of cases ranging from comprehensive and collision denials, theft, fire, disability, and homeowner cases. Angel has also handled an equal amount of personal injury cases stemming from slip and falls, automobile accidents, motorcycle accidents, truck accidents, boat accidents, and other general negligence actions resulting in injury, scarring, disfigurement, lost wages, lost earning capacity, pain and suffering.
