Branca M. Amaral provides legal counsel to our international clients in immigration and transactional law matters. Ms. Amaral joined Gimenez & Carrillo in 2008 and is fluent in both the Portuguese and Spanish languages. She earned her JD from the University of Miami School of Law and is a member of the Florida Bar. Ms. Amaral is a native of Massachusetts and a graduate of Boston University, where she majored in International Relations, with a focus in business and economics. During her undergraduate years at Boston University, she interned under US Secretary of State John F. Kerry, then US Senator of Massachusetts, in his Office of Constituent Services in Boston. After receiving her JD, Ms. Amaral went on to practice international transactional law with Noronha Advogados at its Miami and Sao Paulo offices. In 1995, she relocated to Chicago and was admitted to the Illinois Bar. While in Chicago, she co-founded a private firm and exclusively practiced immigration and nationality law for four years.
Shortly after the birth of her son, Ms. Amaral returned to Florida and has been actively representing clients and companies in immigration, corporate, real estate, and transactional law matters. She is quite familiar with the cultural nuances, business needs, and legal issues of international business persons and professionals seeking to establish themselves in the United States. In her Of Counsel capacity for the firm’s Miami office, Ms. Amaral primarily represents clients in employment-based immigration matters including visas for multinational executives and managers, specialty occupation professionals, individuals with extraordinary ability, and investors.
Ms. Amaral is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and has over 18 years of experience in immigration and nationality law.
